What's the definition of a star?
A celestial body we see in the sky? Maybe so. But I saw one in the Supermarket. Only this star was fitted in knee-high Gucci boots, with the hat and bag to match.
If you've got no idea what I'm talking about, it's the first scene that we're introduced to "Princess," the love interest in 50 Cent's film, Before I Self Destruct (also his 2009 album title). I caught up with the leading lady, Sasha Delvalle, an aspiring actress who played the role of Princess. We discussed her career, working with 50, and what possibilities her future holds.
Why don't you tell us how you got your start in the industry?
I started off dancing Salsa, then I did my first music video with [Reggaeton artist] Don Omar. After that everything else took off from there.
What was your last regular job?
I was as a receptionist.
How did you land the part in Before I Self Destruct?
I auditioned for the lead role as Princess and I got it!! When I walked in the room I WAS Princess - not Sasha.
What was it like working with 50 Cent?
Working with 50 Cent was great!! It was a learning experience for me and I got to know him better. He is very smart and such a business man.
How was the chemistry between you two on set?
The chemistry between us was amazing!! It was so natural to us because he's down to earth, funny, and easy going, and so am I.
During filming, how comfortable were you performing the love scene?
50 Cent is very professional, so I didn't feel uncomfortable at all.
What would you be doing if you weren't in the industry?
If I weren't in the industry, I'd be in Law Enforcement.
What is your "dream" role or opportunity in this business?
My main goal is to be successful in what ever I do, whether it's in the industry or not. I just want to accomplish all my goals.
Do you have any advice for young girls who want to get into movies or modeling?
Yes. Don't be too hard on yourself and don't let anyone take you off your path.
I can't see you having any trouble getting a man. So was that appearance on the "Maury" show real?
Yes it was real and we are doing just fine (laughs)!
Are you working on any upcoming projects that we should look for?
I did a photoshoot for Show Magazine and that should be out in August. I'm also reading a couple of scripts so hopefully things get better and busier for me!!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 Years I'll be where I need to be. Successful and
happy!!
Any shoutouts?
To the people that support everything I do!! Artistic Curves , my friends, and family.
