Why didn't one of you tell me about this sooner? It's been around for over a year and I'm just now hearing about it! If not for VH1's The Short List, I'd have never known. I thought you were my friends. Smh...
There's so much I want to write about this video, but I don't think I could ever capture enough of the foolery to where I wasn't missing something. This offering, "Take U To Da Movies," by rapper Bangs, should be called "Stunt 102" the way he styles on us.
The Sudanese-Australian MC spits bars like: "If you don't like to watch, you can lean on my chest, take a rest and do you best. Baby girl.......AH-HA!" The laugh at the end is "Jadakiss-esque."
But wait, there's more: "Hey Shawty! Where you at, where you going, can I see you later? Cause I can't see you, busy right now. Meet me at the show about 4 o'clock, don't forget and don't be late. I can tell you what to do........"
I just stopped because, as you'll hear, Bangs is a stream of consciousness rapper. He hasn't mastered the art of rhyming and counting bars. He just tells you everything that's on his mind. He'd could be rapping about making a PB & J, and if you listened step-by-step, you'd have a pretty good sandwich in the end.
Visually, Bangs must have studied the early No Limit album covers to craft his backdrops. The stacks of money, city lights, and silver Lambo look like they were delivered straight from Pen & Pixel.
I blame you, America! Now every little kid, even those on the other side of the world, wants to be a rapper.
